I have a sweet tooth. Ok, I admit it and it has been one of the greatest obstacles to overcome when it comes to my battle to lose weight. It&#8217;s just like the alcoholic who can never take another drink if they want to maintain control.<br />

Saying that, I have found that there are some sweet snacks out there that will help curb the sugar giant when he rears his ugly head. It is possible to lose weight and still have a treat ever so often. I used the treats to reward myself every time I met a goal. Once I passed a few goals, I would use these as a twice a week snack. These are snacks for 100 calories or less, so adjust in other areas if necessary. You can still continue to lose weight, but have a sweet treat occasionally.<br />
<P><br />
1/2 c. sugar-free Jello and two Tbsp. reduced-fat whipped topping<br />
two handfuls of chocolate raisins<br />
<P><br />
1/2 an apple spread with 2 tsp. peanut butter<br />
<P><br />
1/2 c. orange juice (Try it frozen!)<br />

1/2 c. fat-free, sugar-free instant or packaged pudding<br />

1.	When you exercise, it stimulates your metabolism, oxygenates the blood and burns calories. Also, exercise becomes even more important as you age because your metabolic rate slows down naturally as you get older. Another important fact is, your body produces a higher percentage of fat cells than muscle cells the older you get. There is no question about it, exercise is an important way to manage your weight. Aerobic exercises and strengthening exercises burn calories by increasing your heart rate.<br />

2.	Exercise is the one thing in common with all those who lose weight and keep it off.  Exercise should be an important part of your daily routine along with proper diet.  Have you ever heard of the Atkins Diet?  It&#8217;s a popular high-protein, low carb diet. Atkins, by the way, who really was a medical doctor, emphasizes the importance of exercise for better health as well as weight loss. The bottom line is exercise and eating nutritious food is the best way to lose weight.<br />

3.	Exercise, coupled with a healthy diet, will make you look and feel better. Exercising can also help keep your metabolism up which would counter-act the effects of a slowed metabolism, when you eat less.<br />

4.	Exercise does not have to be strenuous, but you goal should be to do 30 minutes, five times a week. Not only are calories burned up during exercise, but it also raises basal metabolic rate (BMR), the rate at which your body consumes energy when at rest to maintain basic processes such as breathing and digestion. You don’t have to run a mile in a minute.  Just plain and natural walking will do just as well.<br />

And to do that, you need to have a lot of protein and fiber in your diet. Dietary fat also provides transportation into the body of Vitamins A, D, E and K and helps in the digestive process. The bottom line is that it is important to consume foods that contain fat. The key is to choose the right kind of fat to consume.<br />

2.	Diets that provide less than 800 calories per day also could result in heart rhythm abnormalities, which can lead to death. Of course, diet pills are no miracle shortcut to dieting success.  They are dangerous to your health. In fact, diet pills have drawbacks that you need to consider before you decide to use them. Since diet pills can also be harmful,  for this reason, fad diets and diet pills aren&#8217;t a good way to lose weight.<br />

3.	Diet pills, weight loss supplements, fat loss drinks, all of those gimmicks should be avoided.  And the worst of them all: fad diets that make your head spin. And I don’t mean like your head spinning when in love.  Diet pills are stimulants that speed up your metabolism by increasing your heart rate, which can lead to heart problems, high blood pressure, heart attacks or even death. They also tend to be habit-forming and can lead to dependence and you end up being a ‘Pill Junkie’.  Is it worth it to resort to that kind of plan to lose weight?<br />
