Obesity is constantly in the news, reminding us that it is fast becoming a world wide epidemic. The message encouraging people to lose weight has resulted in everybody looking for the latest fad diet. It is not surprising therefore that the “amazing weight loss in 7 days” diets are top of the hit parade


So what is the best way to lose weight? How can you lose weight fast? What are the latest diet tips? The fact is, there are no easy answers or magic weight loss secrets that can help you drop the pounds. As most diet experts will tell you, whatever diet you choose, there is going to be some deprivation, some sweat, and some plain old hard work if you want to achieve weight loss success. Popular opinion is that slimming diets are NOT the answer for permanent weight loss! You need a sensible well balanced diet that is for life not just for the duration of your weight loss regime.


There is an abundance of information on changing your eating habits. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day, try eating 5 smaller meals. If you eat in a restaurant, ask for a carry out container and save half your meal for the next day’s lunch. They will help a lot when trying to lose weight.


Here’s a few weight loss tips to make life a little easier and give you an edge in the never ending battle:


About 30 minutes before having your meal eat an apple, raw vegetables or a salad with reduced fat dressing. Doing so will curb your appetite and give your diet a fiber boost. Remember, fiber is your best friend in this weight loss battle.


Keep your blood sugar (and your appetite) at an even keel all day long by not going any longer than 3 hours without having something to eat. Keep celery sticks, carrots, bell pepper strips close at hand for munchies. The crispy crunch helps to lose weight by giving you a psychological boost.


Eat several, healthy mini meals throughout the day rather than a few large ones. This does not mean a candy bar! We are talking fruits and veggies here, or maybe a protein snack to give your metabolism a boost.

Exercise! When you feel a binge coming on, exercise is a great way to elevate your mood and get your mind off food. It also relieves stress. Weight loss is never easy, so improve your emotional wellbeing with plenty of exercise.
