5 Reasons to Lose Weight Now

Personally I hate being overweight. Even a few extra pounds can make me feel uncomfortable and lethargic, and so I immediately get to work and get those pounds off before they become a permanent fixture. Consequently I find it very difficult to understand why other people allow themselves to get overweight in the first place. There are of course many, many reasons from metabolic problems to stress and unhappiness, but somehow being overweight would seem to be adding to those problems not making them any better. In order to even begin on a program to |lose weight|, most people need a reason to do it. A special event in the future is a popular one, or maybe the summer and the beach maybe an incentive. However it would appear that even these incentives are not enough for some people and it takes something like a serious illness for them to begin to take control.


Motivation is a major factor in anybody’s desire to lose weight. They need to know why it is important and what they are aiming to achieve.


1. It is now a fact that we are living longer. Life expectancy has risen dramatically in the last 40 years. Unfortunately that doesn’t automatically mean we are healthier in our old age. If you are living a sedentary life and are even moderately obese or overweight then your motivation to lose weight and improve your fitness and overall health would ultimately lead to a healthier future.


2. If you are overweight the chances are you are not eating the right diet for your body type. It may seem like a healthy diet to you but clearly it isn’t suiting you or you wouldn’t be overweight. From this we can also deduce that the food you are eating will not be the correct food to keep you optimally in tip top condition. This can be the cause of many food related illnesses that once addressed will not only help you to lose weight but also ensure you are fit and well


3. It would appear that there is a strong link between obesity and depression. What bigger incentive do we need to lose weight?? On the surface it may appear that the depression is because of the difficulties being obese brings, but there are also underlying problems. Very often there is an imbalance of nutrients especially certain nutrients that are known to cause depression. These imbalances can be addressed through any healthy weight loss diet especially if the diet is tailored to the individual needs of the person concerned. Exercise is also an important factor in depression as the endorphins that give us that feel good factor are released into the brain


4. Stress is your body’s natural response to difficult situations. When you feel stressed, your body produces chemicals that prepare you for “fight or flight” .A little stress is necessary and will not do us any harm, but you must enable your body to get rid of those chemicals, otherwise stress can cause harm over long periods of time. Your body responds to stress by slowing down digestion, releasing sugars and fats into your blood stream to provide fuel, releasing chemicals to help your blood clot, raising your heart beat, perspiring, increasing your breathing, and tensing your muscles. Working out as part of your bid to |lose weight| is one of the best ways to help your body relax and recover from that adrenaline rush.


5. When you lose weight one of the first things you will notice is an improvement in your energy levels. Energy in your body is totally reliant on you giving it the right sort of fuel in the right balance. We are all so careful to ensure that our cars have the right fuel and that the oil is checked regularly and is of a good quality. For some unknown reason we do not seem to realise that our bodies need exactly the same care and attention.


Don’t take your heath for granted. Whether you have a weight problem or not there is no excuse for not giving your body the correct fuel and the appropriate exercise to ensure it becomes and remains as healthy as possible well into old age. Illness is not an automatic part of old age, to be expected, If you look a after yourself when you are younger and expect to live long and healthy life that is what will happen


So get motivated, change your diet and lose weight now before it is too late
