Lose Weight Tips and Tricks


Have you been thinking of dropping a few pounds to increase your health and vitality? Or perhaps it is already and ongoing plan. You have probably already heard all the dos and don’ts but here goes from a veteran in this arena. To lose weight is never an easy task. But there are things we can do and also things others can do if they are willing. Some are so obvious that they hardly need mentioning but perhaps hearing it again will be of some assistance.


Lose weight tips to keep it off:
It is very difficult to lose weight and keep it off if doing it alone. There are lots of support groups and even online groups available. Sometimes a friend or two can work together and support each other. Try to find something that supports you, gives you ideas and builds up yourself esteem and does not makes guilt a part of the program. Google Search for weight loss support groups will bring up many and also weight loss forum support groups. No need to spend money unless you want to.


One hard and fast rule is no food enters the home for anyone that does not conform to the plan to lose weight. It does not work to have some folks in the home junking out on snacks, sugars, pops and ice cream and then expect the one on a weight loss plan to not get into it. It would be like setting up a full bar in your house with an alcoholic, just plain stupid.


Fill your home as much as possible with fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and appropriate dairy. How do you do that? Well, I’ve found if I sit down and plan a weeks meals and snacks, things I will enjoy and not go crazy because there is nothing to eat in the house. Think ahead, no matter what food plan you choose, have what you need. To lose weight I find having a vegetable tray cut up, wide variety and a low fat but really yummy dip is a great help. Also most of us don’t eat plain fresh fruit and it can be very satisfying. Remember to look into what things count as, for example an average banana counts as two fruits. Become a student of nutrition.


Find creative ways to add protein into your diet. Discover tofu (now I know many of you just wrinkled your nose) but tofu has NO taste, it only picks up the taste of what it is cooked with and rarely does someone even know they are eating it until I reveal my secret weapon.


Lose weight tips and Food:
Watch out for using too many sugarless foods as the actually make you crave real sugar (YOUR BIGGEST ENEMY) Detox yourself from sugar will not be easy as it is the most common food additive in foods that are sold. But it is just like an alcoholic going dry, once you are clean you will be amazed how good food tastes. The flavors are amazing but sugar dulls your ability to taste.


I also like to keep on hand a variety of protein bars and healthy snacks that can go in my bag or in the car in a flash so I’m not tempted to run amuck. So here is to a new healthier you, enjoy your ability to lose weight.
